xcapdle
xcapdle is a daily guessing game on the platform xcaped. Players guess escape rooms: first by attributes, then from a cropped photo, finally from an excerpt of the room’s story.
Each round has three stages, each with its own room. Signed-in players get eight attempts per stage; without an account the game ends after the first stage and three attempts.
The puzzle pool consists solely of TERPECA-nominated rooms. The three rooms of a day are derived from the date and are the same for every player.

How a round of xcapdle works
In stage one every guess colours eight attributes: city, federal state, horror, duration, TERPECA placement, number of nominations, size of the venue and whether actors take part. Green means a match, orange a near miss, red no match.
Stage two shows a heavily zoomed crop of the room photo that zooms out with every wrong guess. Stage three shows an excerpt of the room’s story that grows with every wrong guess.
Points depend on how early a guess is correct: eight points on the first attempt, one on the eighth, plus two points for solving all three stages of a day. Only signed-in players are scored.
What xcapdle is not
xcapdle is not Wordle and not loldle. The format follows the pattern of daily guessing games, but the game has no connection to those providers.
xcapdle is not a prize competition. There are no prizes and no entry fee; the leaderboard is purely for sport.
xcapdle is not TERPECA. The pool uses the list of TERPECA-nominated rooms; the game is run by xcaped, not by TERPECA.
